It’s been rough going these past few weeks. There are some pretty crazy things going on in my personal life, and attending to them takes precedence over the show. However, I DID get show #7 recorded and sent on to Mr. William Fredette for editing and mixing.
Show #8 will be done by this weekend…well, at least the recording part. Then it will also be sent to William.
My other partner in crime Will Foley has also been having a busy time lately…so much that he and I have hardly talked about the acoustic showcase. That is one of many things on the back burner.
I reached out to someone from a local charity to get the domestic abuse charity angle behind the hard rock showcase, but they have yet to reply back. When some things settle down, I will try calling again.
I don’t have a charity in mind for the acoustic showcase, although I have considered several: (1) American Cancer Society, (2) any charity that helps out the homeless, or (3) the hungry. Most likely if I find someone that tackles issue #2, they will also deal with #3.
Once I have those charities in line, it is a matter of finding a venue for the showcases. The Low Beat is our first candidate for the hard rock showcase, and we are leaning toward Professor Java’s for the acoustic one. However, I don’t know if Java’s would be willing to give us that three hour running time I desire. Also, I don’t know if we can charge a cover. Maybe we can if ALL the money goes to charity. Not sure on that one; I will have to contact them to find out.
Anyway, those are the updates for now.
